Flounder Flog Flies Ferociously, Friend

Firstly, we're talking Southern Flounder here, Paralychthys lethostigma , the flat critter that stalks shrimp and baitfish movements from tacticly chosen positions on the bottom of warm bays (and nearshore Gulf bottom in mid-winter) from the Atlantic Seaboard in high summer, all the way down the Gulf of Mexico to, about, well, Northern Mexican waters.
They are geniuses of the ambush, staking out positions along edges and entrances where bait and shrimp would naturally travel with the least resistence against a moving tide, and along shorelines where these prey items seek refuge from them and other predators.

Here are some shots, which reveal the basic camouflage pattern, a celestial scattering of white, star-like puffs and clusters over a brown/tan background.
Forgive the lack of focus. My cameras are 'tards when it comes to velocity of focus on a thrashing object. I'm working on that. Slowly.
They eat flies like candy. It's simply a matter of putting the fly over their roving eyes. Hit the bay locations like a good chess player, thinking "ambush", and you'll score in transitional months and also in the heart of summer, when the fish are concentrated in the bays.
The above pattern is attacked viciously. Strip it like the prey item, in this case a shrimp or, with the grizzly barred feathers, she'll also do for a Piggy Perch (Pinfish to you noble Floridians).
Flounder are, in a word, "unexpected". They strike when I'm on the redfish flats and blind-casting while I'm bored because I'm not seeing tails. But then there's the explosion of the airborne flounder flopping back onto the surface of the water after exhuberantly taking a morsel from underneath at great speed and continuing on up into the air, a foot or more sometimes, to fall back down and smash intentionally flat onto the surface, just to make a public display of his success that moment, it seems. Gotta' like the attitude!

Ohio! Vote for Mandel, USMC, for Senate!

Vote for this guy if you love your liberty:
http://jobs.joshmandel.com/home

Why? He's a Marine and he's proven he can handle less than civil situations, and resolve them; if you haven't noticed, we've uncivilized, godless leadership at the helm in Washington, D.C. Do you want to live free, or live as a slave?

There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends
--Jesus Christ said, in John.

For Freedom Christ has set you free; stand fast therefore, and do not submit to a yoke of slavery again
--Paul wrote, in Galatians.

The Good Red and the Bad Red

The Good Red:

I released her back into the bay that night, a twelve or so pound redfish, Sciaenops ocellatus. A good and noble red.

And the Bad Red:

Here's a close-up of the bad red, for identification purposes:

And the Answer to the Bad Red:

Note: I tied this cross on Mustad 34007 Stainless fly hooks--they are strong and do not break when I straighten them--in size #2 for the main, and #4 for the crossbeam.. I tie many.

Heavenly Father, that our nation return to you, the Lord God, and return to cherishing and standing with our friends, especially Britain, Israel, the ever-loyal Czechs and Poles, and all those whom the Bad Red has rebuked--even the very American citizens whom he swore to protect--and may we never again, as individuals and as a nation founded under you, the Lord God, wander from your perfect love, grace, forgiveness, power and light ever again, and never make such selfish, short-sighted and superficial decisions EVER again. I pray this in the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who walked in my sandals before me, and proved your perfect love that casts out fear (as John wrote, in I John). Amen.

The Neon Glowing Ember at Night

From S.F. Design Solutions (http://www.sf-design-solutions.com/ )  for $18.00 US including the attached  and wired "Y" harness to simply "snap" attach into A.) the airplane's micro battery receptacle, and B.) onto the actual micro battery. The battery fits in the same mount already on the bird.
For attaching the main aparratus and the actual tiny wires to the bird, rather than stubborn tape, I used Cortland "Micron" dacron fly line backing material to tie simple Uni-knots (Duncan Loops) around the wire and the frame at tactical places. .
This simple knot creates, essentially, a midget Tie-wrap that one can cinch down and tighten, but with one difference: one can also LOOSEN the knot to move things around if necessary. Once satisfied with everythings' placement, then it's time to cinch down the knot and then  "zap" the knot's wraps with a drop of super glue to lock them in place.
To attach the nicely maleable wire lengths to the foam wings, I used small, 1/2" X 1" strips of tape.
Thankfully, once that first, main aparratus of micro receptacle and wires is secured underneath the receiver board to the frame with that first little loop knot, everything else falls into place nicely, as the wires are very maleable and bend easily and then hold their shape.
I'll post a diagram of how to tie the Duncan Loop/Uni-Knot for you non-anglers later, but here are some shots of the completed work.
First, showing the little knots (white, but gray on the last shot) securing the wire and aparratus to the plane at secure locations ( mouse "CLICK" the image to see an enlarged shot):

And now my Ember glowing brightly at night, first shot is the frontal view, with "Red on the Right for Return" , and a VERY bright white "landing" light facing forward. :
And from behind, you see the blue and green on the right, and know she's going "away"

We'll see how long the flights are, but these tiny, four included diodes in total draw very little power according to Jeffrey of S.F. Design Solutions, so little that flight times are not shortened significantly. This is a well-constructed and user-friendly design, and I can tell it was well thought out. I'll give a report after a calm night of flying!

Bushido Warrior Sakai

Saburo Sakai (me) live in small hut on Japanese mountain side surrounded by perfect Bansai plants and many cherry blossom. Everything perfect. This, Sakai's dojo. He train hard with his Shidoshi, Tanaka-san. Fight evil politicians with Samurai sword. Send them home honest. He fly little airplanes. Relax important for Bushido Warrior.
Sakai order micro flying lights for planes, Fly at night, Sakai want. Then, Sakai find other site. Lites cheaper. Have neat blue light, too.
http://www.sf-design-solutions.com/
Sakai impatient. Strike too soon. Sakai angry. Train harder! Order these lights after discipline!
